[attr="class","base"] [attr="class","tagger"] [attr="class","base2"] [attr="class","borderline"] [attr="class","postarea"]Things felt different when she stepped into the exam room, it was huge like a football field. All of this was for dueling? Neat. Even though the place was so big not many people seemed to be here.. "I thought a school like this would be more popular.." Kaiya said to herself. Just then, as if she was being welcomed, a voice rang through the venue, "Um.. Rox Roland, Kaiya Tsuji are up next. Please meet at dueling field three." and with a click, the voice stopped.
"Guess it's my turn huh? Uh..." she scanned the entire room very quickly.. Where was dueling field three? It was divided into four different sections, each with their own dueling field. Numbers hanged above each field indicating which field number belonged to which field.. Well that made things easier.
It was close by so she was already there after a short walk, walking up the steps Kaiya took her spot on the side of the field. She was amazed, she had never played on one of these before. She had only seen these in tournaments on TV, these have the fancy holograms stuff. Must feel completely different than playing traditionally. Though she had no time to stare, for her opponent was already was taking his side of the field. Ars est celare artem / It is true art to conceal art Feeling tired, Rox stepped up to the stand. He steadied himself as he reached his side of the field, and checked his left pocket for his deck. Nothing. "Oh crap," he muttered as he began to search every orifice on his body. His gaze wandered down, "I'm not wearing pants! What's happening?" His heart began to pound harder and hard-
Rox awoke to the sound of his name being called, "Um.. Rox Roland, Kaiya Tsuji are up next. Please meet at dueling field three." He glanced down, and saw his pants were on. Sighing with relief, he checked his left pocket and felt his deck. It was just a dream!
"Thank God," Rox said to himself. He stepped up to his side of the field. Looking around at the hologram set-up the school was using, he noted that it wasn't as advanced as some of the other one's he'd seen. Then again, he had seen some of the most expensive dueling stadiums there were. He set his deck down in its zone and looked across. His opponent arrived only a few seconds after him. Am I ready for this? | tags and notes |

[attr="class","myclawssubtitle1"]i think i lost my mind a while ago, 'cos i've been seeing some ghosts, and i'd be lying if i told you i'm fine, but i lie. yeah, these thoughts i would never speak out loud, i've seen you cry but i've never seen you shout like a hurricane, these shots don't ricochet. [attr="class","myclawstitle"]sight blurred [attr="class","myclawspost"]
With a heavy sigh the lanky figure at the platform, dead-center the left edge of the field, glanced from applicant to applicant. A boy who seemed lost in his own snoozing versus an opponent who seemed like she'd be saying less than her own share of words. Haruka, a man himself seeming a few cups of coffee short a pleasant morning, leaned forward onto the railing, his fingers loosely wrapping around the steel bars as he applied his weight to the sturdy structure. "Ready?" he asked loudly, not unlike a bratty teenager rolling his eyes at his mother.
[break][break]
Yet Haruka didn't seem to give much of a time to reply. As if he had anything better to do than his job, reached over to the control panel set off to the back of the platform and pushed a few multi-colored buttons. The tiled floor, set a yard below the platform of the pedestal the teacher stood on, began to light up with the soft hum of the engine startup. The life points on their respective counters, red and blue opposite each other on the field, lit up, counting rapidly up from zero to their predetermined counts of eight-thousand. The card scanners before the students flickered on, laying out their sides of the fields before them at their standard card-scaled sizes. Anything placed atop them would be rapidly registered and brought to life before them at a, often frightening, life-sized scale.
[break][break]
"Kaiya Tsuji versus Rox Roland officially commences," he droned out, one hand suddenly snaking its way into the pocket of his robing to produce a small coin. "Kaiya, please do us the honors of calling it. Winner determines turn order." This was where epic duels had played out, and dreams had come to life, and Haruka seemed absolutely indifferent about all of it. He only stuck around on the sidelines because he had obligations, though couldn't deny that there was some entertainment value in watching two young duelists fight it out. The condescending man only hoped that the boy wouldn't fall asleep while the quiet girl spent twenty minutes thinking about what her next move would be.
[break][break]
A likely scenario.

Was he a teacher or just a school official? Even though he asked if we were ready, the man didn't give either of us a chance to answer his question.
"Kaiya Tsuji versus Rox Roland officially commences, Kaiya, please do us the honors of calling it. Winner determines turn order."Heads." she said softly but affirmatively. It didn't really matter what turn she started on, she was confident in her decks ability. Only downside to starting first was that she couldn't play as aggressive right off the bat. [attr="class","myclawstitle"]sight blurred [attr="class","myclawspost"] Heads it was, Haruka not seeming to linger on the answer as he tossed the coin into the air. It seemed to be an ordinary coin, in both diameter and weight and even how high into the air it seemed to travel at a standard flip. Yet, it was more than that. A piece of technology in of itself, nearly weightless. The coin was travelling through the sky and over the railing with a seeming lack of concern from the flipper himself, letting it fall where it may within the arena.
[break][break]
It landed atop the flat, clean surface of the playing field, a blemish down the center of the technological construction. It began to glow and resonate with the rest of the machine, a light humming noise filling the area as the field itself seemed to come to life. The arena came to life with the fruits of its own creations, a holographic grid lining the otherwise barren landscape of the area stretching between the two opposing ends. The final key in the ignition to really get things underway, now fully operational and ready to read any card into its database. The duel was officially allowed to commence.
[break][break]
A similar coin, albeit a false one in its own holographic coding, flipped down through the air and landed on both card scanners before the students in perfect unison. Each landed in the same position in a total mirror, each representing the result of the coin flip. "Tails." Haruka announced, before the coins quickly faded away. "Rox Roland determines turn order. Commence whenever you both are ready."
[break][break]
With that, the man plopped back down into the padded seat behind him. This was likely to be a promisingly boring duel. Excellent. Ars est celare artem / It is true art to conceal art "I choose to go second!" Rox proclaimed. Both players drew 5 cards. Rox's lips curled into a slight frown. He glanced over to see a blank expression on his opponents face. This is so troublesome. By the looks of things, she just wants to sleep too. Rox had spent yesterday in another country, and all last night on a plane home. To add to Rox's exhaustion, his current legal guardian had spent all morning reprimanding him for his "reckless actions" and "lack of dedication to school." Needless to say, Rox just wanted to go to bed. Kaiya set one monster and one spell/trap card face down. Well, this duel looks like it's going places. Rox thought sarcastically as he drew a card. He too set one monster face down and one spell/trap card face down. Finishing his turn, he played one of his most rare cards, Wave Motion Cannon. Rox ended his turn with a small nod. With any luck it'll be over in 8 turns. | tags and notes |

[attr="class","base"] [attr="class","tagger"] [attr="class","base2"] [attr="class","borderline"] [attr="class","postarea"]The referee's coin glided through the sky, landing onto the playing field in front of the duelists. Lines appeared on the field immediately afterwards, forming a large grid. She knew from watching enough tournaments that this is when the real deal started. A transparent, holographic coin appeared on her playing field showing that the coin landed on tails. Luck really wasn't on her side today was it? " I choose to go second!" Well, somebody's excited. Retrieving the top five cards from her deck, Kaiya just stared at them for a little while. It wasn't the best first hand, on top of that it wasn't a good turn one hand either. Whatever. " I'll set a monster then place one card face down and end my turn." The backs of her cards appeared on the field with no visible delay, it's a lot different in person.. They're only facedown cards but it feels so surreal. Without saying anything, the blue hair boy drew from his deck and started his turn. His turn practically mimic'd Kaiyas, his facedown cards mirroring hers. The boy played Wave Motion Cannon and the field fell silent for what felt like an eternity. Is.. is his turn over? Looking at the boy, then to the ref, then back to the boy? " Uh.. my turn...?" she murmured pointing to herself. No response. " I'll take that as a yes.." Kaiya drew the top card from her deck, now this is where things change. " I activate my facedown spell card Charge of the Light Brigade." The card revealed itself to her opponent as she explained it's effect, " This lets me send the top three cards of my deck to my grave, then I can add a level four or lower Lightsworn monster to my hand from my deck." After putting the top three cards into the graveyard she started fishing through her deck for a card she could use. " I'll add Ehren, Lightsworn Monk to my hand and normal summon her in attack position. Even with the monster cards they materialize almost instantly. Before she knew it Ehren had been positioned infront of Kaiya, standing bravely and ready to fight. Now she just had to keep the pace she was about to go into and if nothing went wrong she should have this game won no problem. " Now I'll attack your facedown monster with Ehren." Lunging forwards, Ehren smashed the facedown monster on the other side of the field. " Though because of her effect, the card is shuffled back into your deck instead of being destroyed." His card was already off of the field, and ready to start the snowball. " Now I end my turn, but during my end phase because I have Ehren face-up on the field I have to send the top three cards of my deck to the grave." One by one, the three cards were stacked onto her graveyard. Luckily for Kaiya a card with an effect she could use was sent to the grave.. " and since Dawn Knight was sent from my deck to the grave I can add one light monster from my grave to the top of my deck. so I'll put Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn ontop of my deck." Kaiya was very experienced with her Lightsworn deck by now, it all felt like it flowed naturally in her head and in an actual duel. " You can go." Ars est celare artem / It is true art to conceal art Well, she looks confident. "Now I'll attack your facedown monster with Ehren," the girl cried. Lunging forwards, her monster attacked Rox's facedown monster. "Though because of her effect, the card is shuffled back into your deck instead of being destroyed." Rox placed his card on top of his deck and shuffled. Well, that's not terrible. "Now I end my turn, but during my end phase because I have Ehren face-up on the field I have to send the top three cards of my deck to the grave." She sent her cards to the grave. "And since Dawn Knight was sent from my deck to the grave I can add one light monster from my grave to the top of my deck. so I'll put Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn ontop of my deck." She ended her turn with a, "You can go." Rox drew. His Wave Motion Cannon hummed softly as it gained power. "I summon Skilled Dark Magician in attack mode, and attack your Ehren," Rox exclaimed. Skilled Dark Magician materialized in front of Rox. Raising his staff, the magician released a bolt of dark purple lightning at Ehren, who shattered into nothingness. Kaiya's life point counter dropped by 300. Nodding to end his turn, Rox closed his eyes and began to contemplate every possible outcome to the duel. Now that he knew what type of cards his opponent was using, he was prepared to predict every move. | tags and notes |

[attr="class","base"] [attr="class","tagger"] [attr="class","base2"] [attr="class","borderline"] [attr="class","postarea"]Drawing his card, the boy's machine in his spell trap zone revved to life. " I summon Skilled Dark Magician in attack mode," her opponent stated, a hooded mage taking the field and reading his staff. "and attack your Ehren," Purple energy exiting the staff shocked Ehren, the card's body quickly cracked and shattered into pieces before leaving the field. Kaiya's lifepoints quickly depleted to 7700, not really a big deal right now. " That's better for me anyways, not like he can do anything else this turn." she thought to herself, playing out her next turn in her head. The boy gave her a barely visible nod, signaling her that it was her turn now. Both duelists already knew what the card she was about to draw was, but only Kaiya knew the impact it would have. As swiftly as Raiden was put into her hand, it was summoned onto the field. " I'll summon Raiden, now I'll use his effect. I can send the top two cards from my deck to the graveyard and if any of them are Lightsworns he'll gain 200 attack until the end of your turn." Her cards one by one went into the grave, and she got what she needed to keep this ball rolling. " Felis, Lightsworn Archer was one of my cards sent to the grave so Raiden will gain his attack and Felis will join him on the field." Crouching, with her arms shielding her face Felis appeared next to Raiden. " Now I'll activate Felis' effect, I can tribute her and target one monster you control and destroy it." Still on one knee, Felis took hold of her bow and swiftly fired an arrow through the Skilled Dark Magician's chest, destroying him immediately along with Felis. " Unfortunately for you, now I have to send another three cards to my grave from the top of my deck." It was routine at this point, cards following other cards to her grave from the deck. " Wulf, Lightsworn Beast and Lightsworn Sabre were sent to the graveyard so Wulf is summoned and I'll equip Raiden with a new weapon to give him a nice additional 700 attack." Wulf appeared next to Raiden, giving a cold glare to his ally, and to the enemy duelist directly in front of him while Raiden inspected his new blade. This was a nice combo she had pulled off, proud of herself she swiftly advanced to her battle phase. " I assume you know what's going to happen next, I'll attack you directly with Wulf and Raiden." Wulf attacked, Raiden following immediately after. Numbers were spinning, slowly going down and down. The ticking sounds came to a halt, showing Rox's life points resting at 3300. " I'll have to get rid of another two cards from the top of my deck since Raiden's still here.." she was really confident, it didn't show on her face but she knew for a fact this duel was in the bag. " Now I'll summon another Wulf." Appearing next to the other beast, he rested his large mace on the his left shoulder and stared at his right hand's claws, waiting for prey to appear. " Your move." If it'll even matter. Ars est celare artem / It is true art to conceal art "I'll have to get rid of another two cards from the top of my deck since Raiden's still here." the girl spoke confidently. She was keeping the pressure up, and her monsters were beginning to swarm the field. "Now I'll summon another Wulf." Appearing next to the other beast, he rested his large mace on the his left shoulder and stared at his right hand's claws. "Your move." This isn't looking good. Rox opened his eyes. All she needs is one card to win. Rox drew. Just one card, and she'll be able to stop everything I have. He glanced down at what he had drawn. Perfect. It wouldn't be enough to win alone, but as long as she didn't draw the one card she needed to win, Rox still had a chance. Rox's Wave Motion Cannon hummed softly as it gained even more power. "I activate Swords of Revealing Light! Which will stop your attacks for three turns, and reveals your face-down cards." Rox exclaimed. Bright yellow crosses appeared around the girls monsters, and one penetrated her face-down card. The monster hiding beneath it emerged, revealing a flower with an eye in its roots - Glow-Up Bulb. Nodding to end his turn, Rox closed his eyes and continued his calculations. She had milled enough cards to use the one she needed. If she drew it, Rox knew he'd have nothing to stop it. Let's hope she doesn't have the heart of the cards on her side. | tags and notes |

Exiting the deck, the top card of her deck greeted the rest of the hand. " Sorry, since I have four different Lightsworn monsters in my graveyard I can special summon Judgment Dragon from my hand." This was her ace in the hole, a dragon that seems virtually unstoppable. It felt like it took up the multiple spaces on the field, this is the first time she's seen her card like this. An enormous, pure white dragon towering above her. It felt like a once in a lifetime experience but if she made it into the academy would this become a regular sight? Thoughts of her normal school life and her possible new dueling school life flashed inside her head. Kaiya had no time for these thoughts, the duel had to be finished. " With Judgment Dragon's effect I can pay 1000 life points to destroy every other card on the field." A divine roar came from the belly of the beast, so loud people from other dueling terminals must have heard it. Every card on the field was swiftly shattering, as if they were pieces of glass thrown on the floor. Kaiya's plan was perfect, however a pink blob a mush was attempting to make this difficult.
